What is Hypnosis and how can it help you get that weight off? Hypnosis is a beautiful state of mind that is both natural and common. Truth is we’re all walking around in some sort of hypnosis. What do I mean by that?

Each of us has a unique way of looking at the world, perceiving what is around us and reacting based on our past experiences, habits and beliefs. With deliberate intention combined with the help of a skilled hypnotherapist, you can use this natural state for a specific purpose that you want to improve.

Typically, people come to a hypnotherapist because they are just tired of some behavior or a feeling they can’t shake or that is causing problems in their health, mental and emotional well-being or even finances and relationships.

After years as a professional hypnotherapist, I truly cannot think of any area that cannot be helped with deliberate hypnosis facilitated by a professional hypnotherapist. Let’s talk about a healthy lifestyle for a moment. I struggled with my weight for years until I worked diligently to change my inner hypnosis and created a new mindset and relationship with food. There are probably millions of diet and exercise books and programs out there. Think about this, if “How To’s” were enough, we would all be skinny, healthy, happy, rich and have perfect relationships. Why is it that often when we know what to do, we don’t do it? Or sometimes we start on a great new path only to sabotage ourselves somewhere down the road for no apparent reason. The answer is all in your mind. You feel the way you do because of what you think of and tell yourself all day long. This is why hypnotherapy is so effective in helping you overcome limiting beliefs, sabotaging behaviors and habitual ways of thinking that may make you feel frustrated with yourself. The good news is the same mind that got you feeling this way can also create anything you desire for yourself. Changing your behaviors about food and exercise is a lot easier when you get your mind on board with positive changes. Let me let you in on a little secret: Being kind to yourself makes a huge difference in whether you succeed or fail. So often we spend time berating ourselves when we don’t quite stick to our inner commitments. That backfires in a big way, because when you say unkind things to yourself, your emotions kick in and if you are used to grabbing food to soothe your feelings, you may end up wanting to eat unhealthy snacks more than usual. That approach doesn’t work and may leave you more frustrated than usual. A better way is to recognize you ate something that wasn’t really part of your overall plan, (or overate,) and let it be ok, and adjust your course, get back on track. There’s no such thing as failure….just adjusting the plan. Here are some tips that when implemented daily may really help you keep on your healthy plan. 1. Pay attention to things you say to yourself. If you discover you’re putting yourself down in any way, send love to that part of you that is not feeling so great right now. 2. Drink a lot of water. Water can make a huge difference in how you feel overall. A properly hydrated body does not crave sugary, fatty foods and drinks. The benefits of hydration cannot be overstated. Our bodies are made up of primarily water and the good energy generated from drinking water helps you feel happier too. 3. Commit to your exercise plan. Do something with movement every day, even if it’s just taking a walk or stretching. By doing something every day, you’ll develop a habit. Habits can grow exponentially. It will start to feel weird when you don’t do it. 4. Let it be ok. It’s okay to indulge in something once in a while, but first drink a big glass of water and take that walk first. Often, you’ll find if you change your state, and wait a little bit, you don’t want that thing any longer. 5. Use Your Imagination! Visualize how great you feel when you’ve reached your goal. How wonderful your clothes fit, all the extra energy and the feeling of accomplishment. And of course, a hypnotherapy program can really help you stay on track and accountable. My Diet Free Life program includes a new way of eating and enjoying food and the mindset you need to make it as easy as possible.
