Tips for Slowing Down in a Fast Paced-World
Updated: Jun 14
Did you know that stress can make you gain weight? So important to slow down and relax.
The world around us is always moving quickly. There are so many things to do, so many distractions, the world seems to be changing at a rapid pace in a way none of us could have imagined, and we may find ourselves getting stressed out easily. It’s easy to get caught up in the fast pace of life, but it doesn’t have to be that way. It’s never been more important to slow down and take time for yourself. It’s time for you to live a healthier lifestyle by taking care of yourself.
I’m going to share some tips for slowing it down so you can feel great no matter what’s going on. The Best Moments of Your Life Every moment is precious and it’s all we have, right now. The more I rush, the less I take the time to appreciate all the wonders around me and appreciate these moments I will never get back. It's a shame that we are so busy living our lives at such a fast pace because it doesn't allow time for us to take in all the small moments and enjoy them as they should be enjoyed. We race out of bed without noticing how soft this pillow is or walk by someone on the street without seeing their smile because we're too focused on getting things done no matter what until something goes wrong--and then panic sets in! Do You Always Feel Like You’re In A Hurry? We are so busy rushing from point A to point B that we forget the time spent on getting there. The effort it takes, often occupying all our attention and energy can take away from enjoying small moments in life- those beautiful but ordinary ones. Do you ever ask yourself what is the rush? I find that life's beauty lies within its simplicity - taking time out for ourselves even if it means slowing down and mindfully running errands or finishing work. Whether you're on your way home from work or rushing to get dinner ready before going back into "the grind," don't forget there is an opportunity at every turn to be joyful no matter how outside circumstances may appear! Stop right now; look around and enjoy this moment of calm. Get clear on what is yours to be concerned with and what is outside your control….let it go. In today's world we are all experiencing more stress than ever before. Our lives are full of negative news, fears of sickness or death, worry about jobs, deadlines, appointments, family obligations, relationships with friends and coworkers that can easily lead to burnout if not properly managed. We all know stress is the leading cause of physical illness and mental health issues like depression and anxiety! If you're feeling burned out or stressed out then these tips are for you! The good news is there are simple ways to manage your stress level so it doesn't take over your life. One way is by taking time for yourself every day-even if it's just 30 minutes at a time. TIPS for Creating a Stress-Less Life Make a decision! Decide to create a “Simple Abundance” Mindset right now and from now on. 1. Me Time: Turn off your phone for at least 1 hour a day. 2. Turn off the tv. Television is negative programming. The constant barrage of commercials trying to convince you to buy something focuses on your pain buttons with the underlying message being: “you’re not good enough.” Turn it off. Take a TV fast. 3. Light a candle. Candles can be very soothing. The flame emits light, casting a soft, peaceful glow, which automatically uplifts the energy vibration of the room. The soft glow can be a trigger for a peaceful mind. I light candles in my home and office every day to set a stress free mood. Even the little battery candles are soothing. 4. Breathe. Taking 6 deep breaths has been proven to activate neurological processes in your brain, increasing brain chemicals of happiness, allowing the hemispheres of the brain to balance, creating a “hypnosis” or relaxation effect. In essence, deep breaths into the center of your body quiets down negative chatter of our personality selves. 5. Take a walk, smell the flowers, look at all the beauty around you. Be mindful of each step you take, feel the earth beneath your feet. 6. Don’t sweat the small stuff….and it’s ALL small stuff. Let it go. You have no need to be right or to make someone else wrong…that is “EGO (Edging God Out!)” Dr. Wayne Dyer. Remember, although sometimes it doesn’t seem like it, everyone is doing the best they can with where they’re at mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually….that includes you. You owe it to yourself to incorporate these strategies into your daily living so you can live the healthiest, best life you so deserve! If you'd like some help....I'm here.
